Required Documents for a Residence Permit Application in Turkey

You must submit the required documents for your residence permit application to the Directorate of Migration Management on your appointment date and time:

  • Residence Permit Application Form

  • Passport (original passport and photocopies of the visa and entry-stamp pages)

  • Four (4) biometric photographs

  • Payment receipt for the residence permit fee and card fee

  • Valid health insurance

  • Proof of Accommodation:

    • Notarized rental agreement, or

    • Long-term hotel reservation (a document signed by the hotel management), or

    • Sponsorship letter from a Turkish citizen.
The applicant is responsible for providing proof of accommodation.
The authorities may request a notarized copy of the landlord’s ID, the title deed, and an additional document from the municipality. Please inform your landlord of this requirement before applying. If you are the property owner, you must submit the title deed.

  • The immigration authority may request a bank statement from randomly selected applicants. You must have at least TRY 8,500 available for each month.

  • If you entered Turkey visa-free, you must pay the Visa Entry Fee at the tax office under tax code 9234. This amount is not included in our fee (in 2025, the 9234 single-entry visa fee is approximately TRY 7,800).

  • If you are applying for a residence permit type other than a tourist residence permit (e.g., work / student / family / medical / language course / real estate), the government requires supporting documents to justify your stay in Turkey. Please contact our team for details for each permit type. Providing these documents is the client’s responsibility. For example, for a business-related residence permit, the immigration authority may request an invitation letter from a Turkish company, tax certificate, trade registry documents, etc.

  • If the applicant is under 18, a birth certificate is required. The birth certificate must have an apostille or be stamped by your country’s consulate in Turkey.
